SMS or WhatsApp? Choose what your guests use.

You can use both for the same wedding. Invitease sends SMS invitations to guests outside Pakistan and WhatsApp invitations to guests who prefer it. Each personal link opens the same hosted invitation, and every online RSVP returns to one list.

Should I use SMS or WhatsApp for wedding invitations?

Choose SMS outside Pakistan who prefer regular texts and WhatsApp for guests who use WhatsApp, for guests outside Pakistan. Invitease supports both. The delivery channel changes how the link arrives; it does not change the invitation or where the guest submits the RSVP.

Choose per guest, not once for the whole wedding.

Ask which channel a guest uses before preparing the send. A mobile number outside Pakistan can receive an Invitease SMS invitation; someone who regularly uses WhatsApp may prefer the invitation there. Do not assume that every relative abroad uses WhatsApp or that every US guest wants a text.

Keep one guest-list entry for each invited person, couple or household. Sharing that party’s personal link through a different channel does not require a second entry. Duplicating the party can split its responses and make your attendance total harder to interpret.

What changes, and what stays together.

SMS arrives as a regular text

guests outside Pakistan receive a short message and personal invitation link. They do not need WhatsApp to receive it. They open the invitation in a browser and submit the RSVP there.

WhatsApp reaches WhatsApp users

The guest needs WhatsApp to receive the message, but the invitation and response form open in the browser. guests outside Pakistan can choose this channel too.

The design stays the same

Choose one prebuilt theme and set up the wedding schedule yourself. SMS and WhatsApp delivery lead to that same event experience.

The responses stay organized

You review pending, attending and declined parties in one list. A reply in a chat is not the saved online RSVP; enter outside responses yourself.

Prepare a mixed guest list in four steps.

  1. Check phone numbers — Use the guest’s correct delivery number, including its country code. Invitease SMS delivery is for valid mobile numbers outside Pakistan.
  2. Confirm the channel and permission — Ask whether the guest prefers SMS or WhatsApp. Obtain permission before using Invitease-managed SMS outside Pakistan event messages.
  3. Send the personal invitation — Activate the event and send the link belonging to that invited party. Keep private RSVP links out of shared group chats.
  4. Review one response list — Check RSVPs on the hosted invitation, follow up with pending parties and use attending people for catering.

A wedding with guests in the US and abroad.

Emma and James invite US friends who prefer regular texts, a US cousin who prefers WhatsApp, and family abroad who use WhatsApp. They prepare one guest list, send through the appropriate channels, and collect all online responses on their wedding invitation. Their catering headcount comes from attending people, not from the number of texts or WhatsApp messages sent.

The link connects delivery to the guest list.

Invitease focuses on the hosted invitation and its personal guest record. The guest’s channel preference does not create a separate RSVP system.

  1. Personal delivery — SMS or WhatsApp carries the invitation prepared for that party.
  2. Browser invitation — The guest finds the schedule, venues and response form on the hosted page.
  3. Saved RSVP — The submitted response updates the same guest list as other guests’ responses.
